Pet Personality: Hugh is a shy cat. He has made great strides in the few short weeks he has been in the rescue. However, sudden noises or movement will still send him running to find a hiding place. He doesn't like to be picked up (foster mom is working on this), but he loves to climb up on his own into your lap. Check out his video to see him eating up some attention. So, Hugh really needs a home with moderate activity in it and no small children. He will also need a person who will patiently work to gain his trust. His foster mom swears this will be worth it as he begs her for lap-time. Once in her lap, he doesn't want to get down. He does get along with other cats. A quiet, cat-safe dog would be ok if care was taken in introducing him to the dog.
Pet Bio: Hugh McPherson was living with his mama and sibling on the base at Fort McPherson in Atlanta as a feral kitten. A kind lady had been feeding him while she was on base for training. Hugh's mama and sibling went missing before she could trap them. But she was able to catch Hugh. He's been combo tested (negative) and started on his shots and was neutered on April 5th. Hugh is approximately 4 months old. Despite the fact that he ran wild for 4 months, this little guy is such a sweet and loving kitten. He loves to lounge in your lap and purrs up a storm. He is still a little shy at first, so a home with no small children would be best. If you are interested in finding out more about Hugh McPherson, please e-mail us at animalrescuecarolina@yahoo.com.
